"Images from Various High School Football Venues Since 2011"
Hello Wonder fans, Since I started covering Wonder football for Friday Nights in K-Town back in 2009, I have captured Wonder Football in many different venues throughout the surrounding area. Through this time my love of capturing football action in it's rawest form through the lense of my camera has become a passion if not an obsession for me. As the years have progressed and my equipment has become more advanced, I have traveled to many high school football contests aside from that of the A.L. Brown Wonders. Most of this was done during bye weeks and after playoff elimination. Through my travels I have been able to capture the sights of high school football that many fans don't get to see from the stands. Many of these images go unseen and are lost in the ever changing landscape of high school football season after season.
The desire to be on the sidelines on Friday nights through the duration of the high school football season not only betters my shooting skills, but gives me the opportunity to meet some great people throughout the various high school football programs in the State of North Carolina. During this time I have acquired a backlog of several thousand photos which currently reside on my external hard drive backup just wasting away. I thought it was a shame not to share these photos with lovers of high school football in general and not just supporters of Wonder football. The experience of high school football in it's purest form can only be appreciated to it's fullest by those who participate each Friday night. Those of us in the stands can only see a glimpse of what is actually going on behind the scenes. Being on the sidelines I get to see all the joy and the angst that happens after each play and the internal struggles each player goes through to come out on top each contest.
The galleries below cover numerous games I've shot over the last four years, and now I want to share them with you. These photos capture not only the football action, but the many different faces I've met during these contests. I hope you will be able to appreciate these images as they capture the very essence of what makes high school football such an exciting experience. I can't think of any place I'd rather be on a Friday night in anytown North Carolina from August through December. I'd rather be covering our Wonders, but I'll take on any and all contests if the opportunity presents itself. -The editor
